In this post I’m going to give you my review of one the most popular Spanish courses on the internet. I’ll discuss why it is good, where it is not so good and if it is right for you.
Check out Rocket Spanish Here.
What is it?
Rocket Spanish is an online training program with interactive exercises for Spanish students. The program includes interactive audio exercises for listening comprehension, vocabulary building, pronunciation exercises to improve your accent, grammar lessons, a culture section with cultural articles and interactive games.
How much is it?
The prices provided here are at the time of writing this post – they could change in the future.
There are three levels:
Level 1 (beginner to intermediate) – $99.95
Level 2 (intermediate to advanced) – $149.95
Level 3 (advanced) – $149.95
Will it work for you?
The course has been around for a number of years, won awards and had hundreds of students go through the program.
Before answering whether it will work for you I will say (and I tend to say this a lot) the number one barrier for Spanish students to becoming great at Spanish is how badly they want it.
So the question is – if you do decide to make the investment, can you use the course regularly to get the most out of it? Do you want it enough to go through the program properly and use the training material. If you can do that, then there is no reason why the Rocket Spanish program won’t help you rapidly propel your spanish forward.
Why is it awesome?
Here are some of the reasons I think Rocket Spanish is great:
- There is a lot of Spanish material in the course and it is well targeted to match your level of Spanish
- The games (which are kind of Tetris meets Pacman) are freakishly addictive
- There are lots of multiple choice type quizzes to test your knowledge
- There are visual learning tools such as images linked with vocabulary to help anchor new words in your memory
They also have an app for android and iphone – once you download the app you enter your login and password details and you can access and use the course wherever you go.
Why does it suck?
Here are some of the problems with Rocket Spanish:
- The platform seems kind of old
- At times it is a little clunky
Why you should get it?
If you aren’t truly committed to learning Spanish you need to find something that is going to push you to improve. Sometimes it is easy to go a long time without practicing or not in putting your best effort. If you want to accelerate your learning, it is worth going out and buying a comprehensive course – Rocket Spanish will deliver on this promise.
My overall rating
As a learning tool for Spanish students I give Rocket Spanish: 4 out of 5 Stars
